5-7th July 2024 Jurassic Coast - FULLY BOOKED

Retreat Schedule

 

Fridays

 

12.00pm You will arrive at the pop up bell tent village on the breath-taking Jurassic coastline in the Purbeck hills, Dorset. Your fully equipped glamping tent will be ready for you to pop on the kettle, settle in and acclimatise after your journey.

 

1.00pm We will all come together as an accepting and compassionate group, with the therapist, to meet your fellow villagers. This session will focus on our hopes and possibly anxieties of the weekend ahead, in an empathic and supportive experience. New friendships are often formed in these sessions as we break the ice and get to know each other.

 

2.30pm We will break for a late lunch. Don’t forget supplies! You will experience preparing, cooking and eating your own food outdoors in nature. if this is your first time we advise you keep your menu simple.

 

N.B. the nearest supermarket / take out food is 13 minutes drive in Wareham.

 

4.00pm Late afternoon stroll. We set off on our first mindfulness walk. This walk will be 4 miles round trip, however there will be some hills as you will climb to the top of a ridge and down again to the shore line. Bring a drink and a snack in your rucksack. The lighting is beautiful this time of day so you may not wish to rush back.

 

7.30pm We should be back at camp and preparing dinner. many retreaters bring individual disposable BBQs and enjoy the social side of this time.

 

9.00pm Your therapist will gather the group together around the campfire, to reflect on our experiences past and present, and how the natural surroundings have impacted our experience of ourselves and our sense of belonging within the group.

 

10.00pm your therapist will leave you to your evening under the stars.

 

Saturdays

 

**.**am Take it easy. wake up at your own pace, make coffee, have breakfast. We don’t have to do a thing until we come together again as a group, to share our thoughts and feelings about the evening before and the day ahead and how they may relate or resurface our histories in a peaceful and supportive environment.

 

10.00am Group session, breath work and reflection.

 

11.00am prepare our own pack lunches for todays walk in glorious natural surroundings.

 

12.00pm set off on our 2nd stunning walk along an undulating coastal path with 360 degrees panoramic views of the Jurassic coast and the Purbeck hills. this walk is 4miles each way with inclines and declines along the way.  You will stop on the beautiful bay to enjoy your handmade picnic lunch and have a swim  & snorkel if you chose. So bring your own mask and snorkel. After an hour or two of mindfulness on the bay (depending on weather) we will begin the slow stroll back to camp for dinner.

 

6.00pm prepare dinner and free time.

We don’t have to do a thing until we come together again as a group, to share our thoughts and feelings about the evening before and the day ahead and how they may relate or resurface our histories in a peaceful and supportive environment.

 

10.00am Group session, breath work and reflection.

 

11.00am Forrest bathing in the little woodland at camp. Practicing being still and silent to allow the healing energy of the trees to reach your soul and spirit.

 

12.30pm you will prepare and savour your final meal in the arms of nature for a wholesome lunch.

 

2.00pm packing for home

 

3.00pm departure

 

“I am travelling home with deeper understanding of myself, and how to regulate myself better, as well as a sense of having been cared for, caring for myself, belonging to a group of bonded souls and nurtured in nature.”

50 per cent of the retreat fee may be refunded upon cancellation of the weekend prior to 4 weeks ahead of the retreat.

This retreat is for adults over 18 years of age and should the weekend not go ahead due to meeting minimum numbers we will refund your fee in full. We reserve the right to refund clients following the initial therapy session should we determine that other services and referrals would suit them better.

Embers Retreat Safety Policy

I understand and acknowledge that participation in the outdoor residential therapy program provided by Embers Retreat involves engaging in activities in natural outdoor environments, including camping. I hereby agree to the following own risk safety policy:

  1. Voluntary Participation:

    • I understand that participation in the outdoor residential therapy program is voluntary, and I have chosen to engage in the activities offered by Embers Retreat at my own risk.

  2. Informed Consent:

    • I have been provided with detailed information about the program, including the activities, locations, and potential risks involved.

    • I have had the opportunity to ask questions and have received satisfactory answers regarding the nature of the program.

    • I understand the potential benefits and risks associated with participating in therapy in outdoor settings.

  3. Personal Responsibility:

    • I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety throughout the program.

    • I will act responsibly and follow all instructions provided by Embers Retreat staff regarding safety guidelines, protocols, and recommendations.

    • I will disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or limitations that may affect my ability to safely participate in outdoor activities.

  4. Risk Awareness and Acknowledgement:

    • I am aware that participating in outdoor activities, including camping, involves inherent risks such as uneven terrain, weather changes, wildlife encounters, and potential accidents or injuries.

    • I acknowledge that Embers Retreat has conducted a risk assessment and has implemented safety measures to minimize potential hazards.

  5. Equipment and Safety:

    • I will utilize provided safety equipment and resources as instructed by Embers Retreat staff to enhance my safety during the program.

    • I will follow guidelines for safe use of camping equipment and adhere to fire safety protocols.

  6. Medical Emergencies:

    • In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize Embers Retreat staff to seek appropriate medical assistance on my behalf.

    • I understand that Embers Retreat will make reasonable efforts to ensure my well-being but cannot guarantee immediate medical care in remote outdoor locations.

  7. Personal Belongings:

    • I understand that I am responsible for the security and safekeeping of my personal belongings during the program.

    • Embers Retreat is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

  8. Insurance and Liability:

    • I understand that Embers Retreat carries appropriate insurance coverage for its operations.

    • I release Embers Retreat, its staff, therapists, and affiliates from any liability for accidents, injuries, loss, or damages that may occur during the program, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

I have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Embers Retreat Outdoor Residential Therapy Own Risk Safety Policy. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in the program and release Embers Retreat from any liability. I understand that by signing this policy, it becomes legally binding and applies to all activities conducted during the program.

You will be emailed a copy of this policy to sign prior to retreat commencement.
